COFFEE!!! Yes, no worries, Northern New Hampshire has Espresso and fancy coffee drinks too! Each major town has you covered. Check out the map above for a complete list of Northern NH’s coffee shops as well as their location, contact information, and directions.
We all love coffee shops for a variety of reasons:
Coffee Culture: Coffee shops have become synonymous with a unique culture and lifestyle. They provide a cozy and inviting atmosphere where people can relax, socialize, and enjoy their favorite brews before heading out to play in the outdoors or go looking for moose.
Quality Coffee: High-quality, freshly brewed coffee made from specialty beans sourced from around the world are the marker of a good coffee shop. Whether it’s a classic espresso, a creamy latte, or a bold pour-over, coffee lovers appreciate the attention to detail and craftsmanship that goes into each cup. Check out the White Mountain Cafe in Gorham NH. You’ll most likely see many AT hikers on their way to either Maine or Georgia enjoying a nice mug of wake me up before they hit the trails.
Variety of Beverages: In addition to coffee, coffee shops offer a wide variety of beverages to suit every taste and preference. From teas and hot chocolates to smoothies and specialty drinks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The Granite Grind and Polish Princess Bakery have been brewing and baking directly across the street from each other on beautiful Main St. in Lancaster NH for years, helping tourists and locals start their day off right for years. They are both fantastic!
Cozy Atmosphere: Our coffee shops offer a cozy atmosphere and welcoming environment where friends can escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and see how each other is doing. With nice seating, soft lighting, and background music, they offer a relaxing space for people to unwind, recharge, and connect.
Work and Study Space: Our coffee shops offer free Wi-Fi and ample seating, making them popular places for remote work, studying, and meetings. The ambient noise and bustling atmosphere can provide just the right amount of background stimulation to help people stay focused and productive.
Community Hub: Often serving as community gathering spots, Northern NH coffee shops are where locals can connect with friends, neighbors, and colleagues. They provide a neutral and informal setting for socializing, networking, and building relationships. We are blessed to have so many.
Convenience: With their convenient locations and extended hours, coffee shops are a convenient option for grabbing a quick pick-me-up or meeting up with friends at any time of day. The Maia Papaya in Bethlehem NH is a great place to pit stop located directly between Bretton Woods and Littleton NH. Say hello from us at Visit Northern NH!!
Specialty Food and Pastries: Many coffee shops also offer a selection of freshly baked pastries, sandwiches, and snacks to complement their beverages. These delicious treats add to the overall experience and provide an extra incentive for customers to visit. Another Gem for coffee treats, great sandwiches, and gluten free snacks is The Inkwell Coffee and Tea House in Littleton NH. It’s location in a recently renovated brick mill provides ample comfortable seating to enjoy your breakfast or lunch, so feel free to stay a while.
Coffee shops in Northern New Hampshire offer more than just coffee—they provide a welcoming space where people can relax, socialize, and enjoy a moment of respite from the demands of everyday life or fuel up before a fun day of outdoor activities. Whether it’s for the quality coffee, cozy atmosphere, or sense of community, people love our coffee shops for the unique experience they provide.
Good morning! Rise and shine with us in Northern NH where breakfast isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. Step into one of our many cozy and inviting breakfast spots and prepare to indulge in a morning feast that will leave you feeling energized and satisfied. Having been an area filled with loggers for centuries…….we like our big breakfasts!
The Jerico Deli (Berlin NH) creates delicious handmade donuts that are still made the exact same way that the owner/cook’s grandfather (who was a logging camp cook in the early-mid 1900’s) taught his father, who taught him. The recipe and process hasn’t changed in a decade.
The Littleton Diner (Littleton) located in an old train car on Main St Littleton is a favorite stop for many. The Coffee Pot and Timber’Alley are also great options also on Main St.
The Depot (Gorham) This local breakfast spot got its name from its previous location which was an old train depot servicing the Boston and Maine RR in Berlin. They outgrew that spot, so decided to make the move to a larger newly renovated location in Gorham.
The Damm House Cafe (Errol)- Located in the antique Damm House Inn, this oasis is a great place for coffee, espresso, breakfast, and fancy sandwiches to take with you while camping at Lake Umbagog in or traveling through our dramatic Dixville Notch.
The WaterWheel (Jefferson)- A busy local favorite is located on Route 2 in picturesque Jefferson NH which has fantastic views of Mt Washington.
Green Acres Country Store (Pittsburg)- You have to try their famous cinnamon buns! And everything else of course…..but seriously … .the cinnamon buns.
The Wilderness Restaurant (Colebrook) Located on Main St. Colebrook this classic diner is no frills but DELICIOUS!
Breakfast is Northern NH’s favorite meal so if a restaurant isn’t good…..we don’t go….and they don’t last. So, don’t be shy to try ANY of our breakfast places shown on the map above. You will find plenty of delicious food to fuel your day.
Now let’s get those taste buds fired up:
Craving something sweet: How about fluffy buttermilk pancakes drizzled (or smothered) with our local NH maple syrup, gifted from the very trees you see all around you, or decadent French toast topped with fresh picked local berries and whipped cream.
In the mood for something savory? Sink your teeth into a hearty breakfast burrito stuffed with eggs, cheese, and your choice of fillings, or savor the flavors of eggs benedict smothered in hollandaise sauce, and let’s not forget the side of bacon, we mean, you are on vacation after all:)
If you are looking for something on the lighter side? Our local breakfast places have you covered with a selection of fresh fruit bowls, yogurt parfaits, and wholesome oatmeal topped with nuts, seeds, and honey.
As always, pair your meal with a steaming cup of freshly brewed coffee or a refreshing glass of juice.
